CALLING ALL CHILD ARTISTS!
We have a very special ongoing project and a gift for you! Portland Child Art Studio is putting together a collection of child art about this unique period of time, when we are all at home spending more time with our closest family but also separated from so many people that we know and love. We would love to include your art in our collection! We have organized both a digital and a real life exhibition of this artwork.
Project Guidelines
HOW HAS THIS TIME BEEN FOR YOU?
- This is the one open-ended question to inspire this project.
- While we do need your art to be 2-dimensional (flat), it can be many different things. It can be representational (a picture of something) or it can be abstract. It can be inspired by the wonderful things during this time and it can be about the hard things during this time. It can be a combination of all different kinds of aspects of this experience. You can include yourself in the artwork, but you don't have to.
- We would also like to challenge you to use more than one medium in your artwork, which means a combination of the materials listed below.
- Please include a short description of your work or a title for the work. We also need your name and age on the back of the artwork.
- Lastly, we would love to challenge you to spend at least 30 minutes to an hour OR MORE on this artwork.
MATERIALS YOU CAN USE
PAPER / PENCIL / MARKERS / COLLAGE / PATTERNED PAPER/ TAPE/ WATERCOLORS / ACRYLIC PAINT
In exchange for your artwork, we have a gift for you!

As a thank you for your artwork, we would like to gift you a bag of fun craft materials for you to create with! These include 4 packs of Modeling Clay*, some felt pieces, craft sticks, pipe cleaners, plastic straws, and construction paper. Information about pick up times to exchange your art and receive a gift of craft supplies is listed and updated at the bottom of this page.
For families who are able to donate, a $1 to $20 suggested donation is highly appreciated and will help make this project possible! Thank you so much for your support!
*Disclaimer: our modeling clay was generously donated and is past its official expiration date. It is however still great to use and unopened in its plastic packaging.
